ServSafe® Classes offered to Food Service Professionals

Iowa State University Extension is offering several ServSafe® classes for food service professionals. ServSafe® training will provide knowledge every food service provider must know about food hazards and proper food handling practices in order to keep food safe and protect the establishment against the costly nightmare of a foodborne-illness outbreak. Participants will learn ways of prevention, regulatory requirements, and how to improve food quality.

Gardening and the canning season are coming to an end. Maybe you are thinking about next year. Have you ever wanted to learn how to can? How to make jams and jellies? How to dehydrate fresh fruits and vegetables? Here is a way to learn and plan what to do next year with your produce. An excellent DVD set called “So Easy to Preserve” has just arrived in the ISU-Dubuque County Extension Office. The book may be prchased at our office and would make an excellant Christmas gift.
