Dubuque’s conservation & local foods communities are teaming up this Valentine’s Day to host the first Food Chain Summit, bringing together area families and businesses with local farmers, food system organizers, and conservation educators to explore opportunities at the intersection of food and conservation in Dubuque. Featuring 30+ local exhibitors, 5 breakout sessions and keynote lecture by Fred Meyer of Backyard Abundance, this event will provide timely information and resources to families, schools, and businesses looking to achieve health and sustainability goals in 2015.

Money Smart Ag Conference will be on Tuesday, February 10, from 9 am – 2 pm, at Tama Hall, Hawkeye Community College, 1501 E. Orange Road in Waterloo.   Nationally-recognized professionals will present on a wide variety of topics including business transitions for farm families, state and federal ag loan and tax credit programs, agriculture estate planning, your farm’s enterprise value, crop insurance, Farm Bill, fence laws, eminent domain, investing, mobile farm record keeping and business transitions for farm families.

November 24, 2014

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will offer the Crop Advantage Series to producers at 13 locations across Iowa during January. Crop Advantage Series provides the latest information to promote profitable decision-making for upcoming growing seasons. Sessions will be held in Waterloo on Jan 22nd and Iowa City on Jan 28th.
