This year Dubuque County Extension youth staff is offering School's Out Day Programs for Western Dubuque non-school days at the Dubuque County Extension office to enjoy some hands on learning. Each session will consist of a full day of learning that runs from 8 am to 5 pm  with drop off between 7:30 and 8:00 am and pick up between 5:00 and 5:30 pm. Kids will stay all day and need to bring a sack lunch and drink.

Iowa State University Extension is offering several ServSafe® classes for food service professionals. ServSafe® training will provide knowledge every food service provider must know about food hazards and proper food handling practices in order to keep food safe and protect the establishment against the costly nightmare of a foodborne-illness outbreak. Participants will learn ways of prevention, regulatory requirements, and how to improve food quality.

Marilyn Collins Lawler of Dubuque County was inducted into the 2015 Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame during a ceremony at the 4-H Exhibits Building at the Iowa State Fair on Sunday, August 23. Inductees, recognized for their outstanding service and dedication to the 4-H program, were presented a certificate by the Iowa 4-H Foundation as they were introduced on stage and honored at a reception that followed the ceremony.
