Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in partnership with the colleges of Design and Human Sciences is offering a 2015 Rising Star Summer Internship experience.  The focus of the internship is on local foods. Interested students may view a youtube video from last summer's Rising Star Interns and go online to apply through CyHire https://cyhire.iastate.edu/ . Applications are due February 25th.

Northwest Iowa - Local foods are making an economic impact in Iowa. In fact, sales of food produced in northwest Iowa added $312,441 to the local economy in 2012 as reported by eighteen farmers in the northwest region.

  • Master Gardeners are individuals who have an interest in horticulture, have taken the Master Gardener training offered by Iowa State University Extension, and share their time and expertise with other gardeners.

  • Let us "feed" your appetite for gardening information with a wide menu of gardening entrees.

  •  Information on lawn, garden, and landscape plant questions is available from ISU Extension staff.

  • Images and information on a wide range of common pest and non-pest insects encountered in the home, yard and garden.

  • Information on Pesticide Applicator Training, Integrated Pest Management, and related environmental programs.
