This very popular publication from ISU Extension serves as a guide for individuals who hire custom work or perform custom work within our state. The survey also includes rates for renting machinery and providing other machinery operations. The custom rate charged for a service should cover the expense to own as well as operate the machinery, including fuel and the operator’s labor.
