It's Bunny Boot Camp Time!!!  Check out the schedule for upcoming 4-H Rabbit Project Workshops. The Clay County 4-H Bunny Boot Camp Committee has a variety of topics and dates already scheduled and have invited youth and families from Dickinson County to attend.

That's right! The 2016 Dickinson County Fair Book is published and being distributed. Club leaders have a copy to give to each family. Extra copies are available in the office or via electronic download. Please thank all of your committee members when you get a chance. They have put a great deal of time and energy into making the best better for the 2016 County Fair.

Please extend a warm welcome to our newest staff member, Zachary Myer, School Program Coordinator. Zachary will coordinate our Ricochet Leadership Programs and Boomerang Character Education Programs with the school districts in Dickinson County. He comes to us with previous Extension experience in Winnebago County coordinating their Ricochet Programming, Clover Kids, and Summer Camps. Statewide Resources

  • Provides opportunities for youth to develop skills they can use now and throughout their life, empowering them to reach their full potential working and learning in partnership with caring adults.

  • Addresses youths’ basic needs through the eight essential elements: caring adults, safe environments, inclusive settings, and opportunities for mastery, service, self-determination, planning for the future and engaged learning.

  • Statewide updates posted each Thursday afternoon by the State 4-H Office. Check it out every week to keep up-to-date on events, grants, forms, fair info, and fun!

  • Provides financial resources to develop and deliver quality 4-H youth programs and opportunities throughout the state of Iowa.

  • Join a 4-H club where you can learn about your interests while having fun, improving your communication skills, and serving your community. These are resources to make your club experience even better.

    Every June, 1000 teenagers converge on the Iowa State University campus for 3 days of speakers, workshops, mixers, dances, a banquet, and community service activities. If you've completed 8th-12th grade, you're eligible to attend. Non-4-H members are welcome.

  • Provides opportunities for youth to demonstrate, learn and apply project and communication skills. Every year the 4-H Exhibits Building features well over 3,000 exhibits and Livestock shows engage more than ## youth.

  • Youth and teens can discover opportunities to be recognized for personal growth, project learning, leadership and citizenship. 

  • A partner and leader in providing positive youth development through out-of-school programming. Outreach priorities include curriculum development, staff training, and partnership development.

  • Clover Kids is a FUN 4-H program for children in kindergarten through third grade. Children participate in hands-on activities designed to build many life skills!

  • Takes service to the next level. It builds civic skills, improves social behavior, increases youth engagement, strengthens communities and improves academic achievement.

  • A unique partnership between AmeriCorps and Iowa's Promise. The vision is that all Iowa youth have safe and supportive families, schools and communities and that they are healthy, socially competent, successful in school and prepared for a productive adulthood.
