Reminder... July 1 is the last day to turn in entries for the Dickinson County Fair. (It's NOT the only day, so stop by early and get 'em in.) The 2016 Dickinson County Fair Book has class numbers and descriptions for both livestock and static exhibits. Entry forms for each are linked here or available in the Extension Office. Static Entry Form; Pet, Dog, Poultry, Rabbit, and Horse Entry Form; Beef, Sheep, Goat, and Swine Entry Form. A REVISED FAIR SCHEDULE is also linked here.

That's right... Cy Is Coming to help us Celebrate 100 Years of Extension Work in Dickinson County! Join us on the Courthouse Square on Saturday June 25th from 6-9 PM as a part of the Cruise In Celebration on Hill Avenue in Spirit Lake. We'll be serving FREE rootbeer floats and giving out water bottles, stickers and coloring pages to the kids. We'll have Commemorative Centennial Crocks for sale. And Cy will be there for photo opportunities with all Cyclone Fans! Look for us on the lawn east of the Courthouse.

Get your team together and join the fun! The Lloyd Victors 4-H Club is sponsoring a Human Foosball Tournament from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 16th during the Dickinson County Fair. They are taking registrations now for 6-person teams. No cost to register. Trophy for the Championship Team. See the Human Foosball Tournament Flier and Registration Form for details.

5K Announcement

The Dickinson County Youth Council is sponoring a 5K Glow Walk/Run on Sunday, July 17th at 8:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds in Spirit Lake. Cost is $10 if pre-registered by July 1st or $15 if later. T-shirts, glow sticks, and water guaranteed for all pre-registered. Prizes for each age division. Bring the family & friends and have some fun!     Every June, 1000 teenagers converge on the Iowa State University campus for 3 days of speakers, workshops, mixers, dances, a banquet, and community service activities. If you've completed 8th-12th grade, you're eligible to attend. Non-4-H members are welcome.

  • Provides opportunities for youth to demonstrate, learn and apply project and communication skills. Every year the 4-H Exhibits Building features well over 3,000 exhibits and Livestock shows engage more than ## youth.
