ATTENTION KIDS!  4-H is hosting a Pottery Paiting Party at Kurio Kastle in Arnolds Park on Sunday, April 14 from 2-4pm. There are lots of pottery options to paint, like... owls, piggy banks, mugs, footballs, basketballs, plaques, ornaments, and more! BRING A FRIEND, MAKE NEW FRIENDS, HAVE FUN!!!  Cost is $20 for 4-H Members and $22 for Non-Members. Call 712-336-3488 to pre-register by April 10.

Did we get your attention!?!  Hope so. If you are a 4-H or FFA member planning to show pigs or do dog obedience at the county fair, we need to hear from you by this Friday, April 5. Call the office now at 712-336-3488 to reserve your pig ear tags and to get your name on the list for dog obedience training sessions.

The 4-H Rabbit Committee invites you to bring your bunnies to an educational workshop at the Expo Center in Spirit Lake on April 13, 2013 from 10Am-12NOON. We want to help you with questions or concerns you might have regarding:  ● Nutrition and Feeding ● General Care (Clipping toe nails, cleaning, etc.)  ● Housing Concerns and Carrier Building  ● Preparations for Fair  ● Deadlines & Dates for Identifications, Fair entries, and Other County Events ● Rulebooks ● And Questions. Statewide Resources

  • Every June, 1000 teenagers converge on the Iowa State University campus for 3 days of speakers, workshops, mixers, dances, a banquet, and community service activities. If you've completed 8th-12th grade, you're eligible to attend. Non-4-H members are welcome.

  • Provides opportunities for youth to demonstrate, learn and apply project and communication skills. Every year the 4-H Exhibits Building features well over 3,000 exhibits and Livestock shows engage more than ## youth.

  • Youth and teens can discover opportunities to be recognized for personal growth, project learning, leadership and citizenship. 

  • A partner and leader in providing positive youth development through out-of-school programming. Outreach priorities include curriculum development, staff training, and partnership development.

  • Clover Kids is a FUN 4-H program for children in kindergarten through third grade. Children participate in hands-on activities designed to build many life skills!

  • Takes service to the next level. It builds civic skills, improves social behavior, increases youth engagement, strengthens communities and improves academic achievement.

  • A unique partnership between AmeriCorps and Iowa's Promise. The vision is that all Iowa youth have safe and supportive families, schools and communities and that they are healthy, socially competent, successful in school and prepared for a productive adulthood.
