AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State University Plant and Insect Diagnostic Clinic can help Iowans identify the mushrooms growing in their backyards and elsewhere, but cannot say whether they’re safe to eat.

This series of talks are provided for the public to give them information about gardening topics.   Each lecture will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church at 116 Guetzko Court in Manchester.  The Delaware County Master Gardeners ask for a $2 donation to cover the cost of bringing in these speakers.*

Brittany Bethel Regional Foods Coordinator

ISU Extension and Outreach’s Regional Foods Coordinator, Brittany Bethel, is among the recipients of the Nourish Iowa Awards, established to recognize individuals and organizations who have made a significant impact on the advancement of food security, food access and health at the community, regional or state levels.  Bethel conducted a live food demonstration and recipe tasting at the Manchester Farmers’ Market in August.
