The Delaware County 4-H Foundation was formed in 2005 to provide a tax-exempt method for area residents and businesses to support the Delaware County 4-H Youth program. Donations to the Delaware County 4-H Foundation are deposited with the Iowa 4-H Foundation which oversees the investment, files the required financial reports and provides other forms of support. Decisions on how the funds are spent are made by the local board of directors.
Delaware County 4-H currently offers several scholarships for outstanding 4-H members, and a portion of the county 4-H foundation funds will be used to support these scholarships and expand the scholarship program by either increasing the size of the current scholarships or creating additional scholarship opportunities for Delaware County youth. Other anticipated uses for the fund will include 4-H program materials and initiation of new projects at the club or county level. Additional information about the foundation is available at the Delaware County Extension office in Manchester or by clicking here.
