Ever wonder what the county fair experience teaches 4-H members? Fairs provide 4-Hers the opportunity to share what they have learned in their project work. 4-Hers receive immediate feedback from the judge on their accomplishments and on areas in which they might improve. Fairs provide families a chance to work together be it a club project or the 4-H foodstand. Fairs also provide the opportunity for the public to see 4-H in action! People can see the variety 4-H offers by what youth choose to learn and display at the fair.
The Delaware County Fair began in 1868 and has continued to grow and improve over the years to the present size it is today. The fair holds a special place in the hearts of Delaware County’s citizens and has always been the place to be during the summer. The annual fair plays host to hundreds of 4-H and FFA exhibits from throughout the county giving us the opportunity to showcase some of the county’s finest youth. It is also home to great shows and entertainment and a fabulous place to spend time with family and friends.
