Brittany Bethel Regional Foods Coordinator

ISU Extension and Outreach’s Regional Foods Coordinator, Brittany Bethel, is among the recipients of the Nourish Iowa Awards, established to recognize individuals and organizations who have made a significant impact on the advancement of food security, food access and health at the community, regional or state levels.  Bethel conducted a live food demonstration and recipe tasting at the Manchester Farmers’ Market in August.

Cindy Baumgartner, Nutrition and Health Specialist and a Master Food Safety Advisor with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, appeared on the popular Paula Sands Live to discuss safe food preservation methods and warn of the dangers of oven canning.

Iowa State University Extension Nutrition and Health program specialists are eager to announce a new food preservation program, Preserve the Taste of Summer. It is a comprehensive program comprised of both online lessons and hands-on workshops.
