2011 Farmers Tax Guides Available at the Delaware County Extension Office

Tax law changes that are of interest to farmers are outlined in the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) 2011 Farmers Tax Guide, now available through Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. The Delaware County Extension office has copies on hand, or the publication can be ordered from the Extension Online Store. It highlights a number of 2011 administrative and tax law changes, as well as changes that will occur in 2012.

Most of us only have a vague idea of how much electricity we use each month and almost no idea of how much electricity an individual appliance uses. You may be wondering how inefficient an older appliance is such as a refrigerator, freezer, or TV set. You can use a Kill A Watt meter to calculate how much electricity the appliance is using each week, month or whole year. ISU Extension Volunteers Offer Tax Help to Rural Iowans

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach supports Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), a program that provides free tax preparation for low- and moderate-income Iowans. ISU Extension and Outreach works with local partners to recruit and train volunteers and provide technical support for VITA sites in 42 rural counties.
