Rural Innovator Newsletter beginning farmers

ISU Extension and Outreach has created a new online newsletter to support beginning and transitioning farmers. “The Rural Innovator” is a quarterly, online newsletter that connects beginning farmers with resources, innovators with ideas and technology and transitioning farmers with the next generation.
   

Dairy Iowa Profitability Team Iowa State University Extension

Iowa dairy farm operations need to be profitable and today have access to many on-farm services to aid them with management and technology issues.  Sometimes a dairy producer can have a challenge with a certain farm practice, or perhaps they want to take their operation to the next level.  These may require a team management approach of their key dairy suppliers.  With these in mind, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, plus several industry partners, have created the Dairy Iowa Profitability Team.

  • Data on each county in Iowa including population demographics, education, retail sales, personal income, employment, occupation, housing, and family characteristics.

  • Reports of recent and historical trends in the local retail trade sector by city.

  • Nonprofit Management Academies enhance the management skills of those serving nonprofit sector.

  • Provides opportunities for youth to develop skills they can use now and throughout their life, empowering them to reach their full potential working and learning in partnership with caring adults.

  • Specialists have compiled a list of resources to help you prepare for and recover from natural disasters. Remember to take care of yourself and your family first; then deal with the things lost to the disaster.
