Farmland Leasing Meeting
Iowa State University Extension and Outreach of Dallas County is offering its annual Farmland Leasing Meeting on August 4, 2014 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. in the ADM High School commons. This three-hour workshop will focus on issues related to land values and rental rates, Iowa’s Water Quality Initiative and the Agricultural Act of 2014.
ISU Extension Farm Management Specialist, Steve Johnson, will address current cash rental rate surveys and factors driving next year's rents such as market trends and input costs. He will also answer questions land owners, tenants or others attending may have about farmland leasing. Each workshop attendee receives a 100-page booklet of useful materials about farm leasing arrangements.
Other topics will include Iowa Cash Rental Rate Survey and Land Values Survey, comparison of different types of leases, impacts of yields and prices and calculating a fair cash rent.
Registration is $20 per person or $30 per couple and covers cost of materials. For more information or to register, contact the Dallas County Extension office at (515) 993-4281.
