The 2008 Dallas County Fair has come to a close.  The weather cooperated and it has been deemed a success!!  Watch here for the results and pictures.  Next on the calendar will be the State Fair, Clay County Fair and Ak-Sar-Ben.  The latest articles regarding disaster recovery are continuing to be published.  There is a Storm Recovery Guide with lots of helpful information for those affected by the flooding. Extension's Energy Tip for July 2008 - If you use air-conditioning, set your thermostate as high as comfortably possible in the summer.  The less difference between the indoor and outdoor temperatures, the lower your overall cooling bill will be.  This tip is brought to you by the U.S. Department of Energy and ISU Extension.

2008 Farmland Leasing Workshops in Central Iowa will be held between July 30 and Aug 19.  There is one in Adel at the Public Library on Tuesday, August 5 beginning at 9:00 a.m.
