 Visitors to the Iowa State Fair Aug. 7-17 may venture with Cy around the fairgrounds to learn more about Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, as well as enjoy the exhibits of thousands of Iowa youth who participate in 4-H Youth Development.

Due to the June sessions maxing out enrollment, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach of Dallas County has scheduled another Babysitting Basics clinic for Tuesday, August 5 and Wednesday, August 6.

Statewide Resources

  • Every June, 1000 teenagers converge on the Iowa State University campus for 3 days of speakers, workshops, mixers, dances, a banquet, and community service activities. If you've completed 8th-12th grade, you're eligible to attend. Non-4-H members are welcome.

  • Provides opportunities for youth to demonstrate, learn and apply project and communication skills. Every year the 4-H Exhibits Building features well over 3,000 exhibits and Livestock shows engage more than ## youth.

  • Clover Kids is a FUN 4-H program for children in kindergarten through third grade. Children participate in hands-on activities designed to build many life skills!
