Parenting Together
“Little” things make a big difference in relationships.
Strengthen yours this month with these ideas. If you are a grandfather,
find ways to support the relationships of your adult children and
their partners.
Week 1
Let your (grand) child hear you compliment their mother. Genuinely
acknowledging the good things about their mother is also an indirect
compliment to the child.
Week 2
Write a “I’ll be thinking of you today” note and
put it where your partner is likely to find it later in the day.
Be creative.
Week 3
Spend extra time looking at your partner. Making direct eye contact
can be a very intimate act in an otherwise busy day.
Week 4
Create bedtime stories for your children with your partner
as the heroine.
Week #5
Create a treasure map with a series of clues that will lead from
one room to the next. The treasure can be almost anything from a
love note, a poem, or a small inexpensive gift.
