Family Tree
Get a large sheet of paper and do a family tree with your children. Let each child help draw a tree with you and their mother (or step parent) as the main branches. Draw all the children as the smaller branches and all grandparents as the roots. Write in the names and a quality or strength of each person. Include photos if you have them. Tell stories about what you know about each person. This is a great way for blended or step families to build relationships.

Thankfulness
Give each child a copy of a calendar for the month. Each day, write down one thing for which they are thankful. Pick a meal near the end of the month to have everyone share his or her Thankfulness Calendar.
