Spending regular one-on-one time with your children boosts their self-esteem. Start a once a week/month “Me & My Dad” outing. You and your children will love it!

Pick an activity and start your tradition!

  • Go out to eat
  • Catch a movie
  • Go roller skating or ice skating
  • Take dance lessons
  • Have a slumber party
  • Go fishing
  • Have a go-cart race
  • Work together to build something
  • Have a picnic in the park

Discussion Starters
Teach your child values, communication skills and learn about each other at the same time. Use these conversation starters in the car, at mealtime, bedtime.

  • What is something that you do well?
  • If you were lost in the woods and it got dark, what would you do?
  • What would you invent to make life better?
  • Finish the sentence, “What the world needs now is _______”. Tell why.
  • Describe your life at age 70.
  • What do you want to be doing in ten years?
  • What kind of a job do you want to have in 25 years?
  • What freedom do you value the most?
  • Talk about the importance of faith in your life
