You do not need to preregister for CIC sessions in our county. If you plan to attend a session in another county, check with that county extension office about preregistration and the arrival time. Call ahead for any meeting that you plan to attend and confirm the date, time, and location of the meeting.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at 712-263-4697. Note that your Private Pesticide Applicator Certification number and the year your certification expires are on the mailing label on the brochure that you received in the mail. Bring this brochure with you.

Families across Iowa will be getting together — virtually — once a month from January through June for an Eco Family Virtual Conferencefrom Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. It’s an opportunity for families to improve the environment, reduce their carbon footprint and create community as they participate in a do-as-you-learn format.

Michael Castellano, assistant agronomy professor at Iowa State University, will share his research on nitrogen and soil organic matter during the Iowa Learning Farms’ monthly webinar Wednesday, July 17. The 11:30 a.m. webinar is part of a free series, hosted by ILF, through Adobe Connect. The series is on the third Wednesday of each month.

  • Tree identification, care and maintenance, and timber management resources.

  • Educating people about Iowa's wildlife resources so that Iowans can make informed decisions that impact wildlife and their habitats.

  • Establishing watershed groups in impaired sub-watersheds throughout Iowa implemented through partnerships of farmers, extension specialists, Iowa State University Extension and agencies at the state and local level.

  • Building institutional partnerships and increasing the capacity of citizens, educators, agencies and community leaders to better address water quality concerns.

  • Iowa Learning Farms is building a Culture of Conservation, calling attention to the importance of improved water and soil quality through conservation farming practices.

  • Developing new ways to farm profitably while conserving natural resources.

  • Comprehensive information on manure management, research and application for Iowa.

  • Find resources on soil nutrients, nutrient management, soil sampling and testing, interpretations and recommendations.
