About the Program
This program will focus on two key issues:
- The division of roles and responsibilities between the board of directors and management
- Interpreting and evaluating financial performance
As new businesses transition from formation into the first several years of operations, the primary functions of the board change. During formation, a board is often responsible for making all the decisions regarding the structure and operation of the organization.
However, once senior management is hired and operations begin, the board must be concerned with setting policy and strategy as well as monitoring and evaluating business performance. Making a smooth transition in these roles can have significant impact on the success of the venture.
