Values Clothesline Statements

The facilitator should choose 8 to 10 of the following statements to read to the group. Local issues can be added to the list. Just make sure they are not emotionally laden issues that could cause a heated argument.

  1. Republicans can run the country better than Democrats.

  2. Vanilla ice cream is better than chocolate ice cream.

  3. Country music sounds better than jazz.

  4. Women are better drivers than men.

  5. Smokers should pay more for health insurance.

  6. Drug pushers should be executed.

  7. Large hog lots are an asset to Iowa.

  8. Handguns should be outlawed.

  9. Laws should be enacted to prohibit parents from physically disciplining their children.

  10. O.J. did it.
