A roundtable session for beef feedlot operators will be conducted jointly by ISU Extension and Outreach and University of Nebraska Extension on Thursday, Feb. 21 from 12:45 – 3:45 p.m. Six Iowa locations will host the webinar sessions.
As cow-calf and feedlot operators continue to deal with drought related issues, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and the Iowa Beef Center will continue to offer educational opportunities to address ongoing and emerging issues. “Drought – a Game Changer for Beef Operations” is the title of meetings to be held Nov. 6 – Dec. 6 across Iowa.
Two workshops designed to help pork producers manage building ventilation equipment have been set for Feb. 28 in Mason City and Feb. 29 in Webster City.
North central Iowa beef producers can learn about raising cattle in monoslope buildings, slatted deep pit barns and open lots during an Aug. 23 tour in eastern Mitchell County. The tour begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Bob Noble farm near Riceville.
Today Iowa farmers need to manage any number of employees, adding Human Resources director to their many roles. That's why ISU Extension is offering employee management workshops specifically for agricultural operations.
