2008 Northeast Iowa Community Development Conference

Heartland Acres Agribition Center, Independence


The sixth annual regional community development conference, Small Towns on the Road to Success, was held Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at the Heartland Agribition Center  in Independence, Iowa, with nearly 100 participants.

The keynote session was a presentation by David Lyons, Chief Business Development Officer for the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, on the Future of the Bio-Industry in Northeast Iowa.

The day's program included breakout sessions on themes of "Going Green" and "Workforce and Housing."
