Essentials of ArcGIS 10.2 Course Descriptions:
Essentials of ArcGIS 10.2: two-day course
This two-day course will explore the new, easy-to-use features in Esri's ArcGIS 10.2 software suite which includes ArcMap, ArcCatalog and ArcToolbox. ArcMap is a map-centric application for the editing, display, query and analysis of map data as well as map layout tasks. ArcToolbox is an organization of geoprocessing tools such as data conversion, overlay processing, buffer creation and map transformation. ArcCatalog is a data-centric application that lets the user locate, browse and manage spatial data. This course is intended for both new and experienced users of geographic information systems. Experience using Windows-based applications is highly recommended.
• Displaying, projecting and editing data
• Working with tables
• Working with georeferenced data
• Querying your database and selecting features by location
• Making good maps from the data
Essentials of ArcGIS 10.2: one-day course
This course is very similar to the two-day course but will offer a faster-paced introduction to all the essentials of Esri’s ArcGIS software and is meant for GIS beginners or people with experience using an ArcGIS versions older than 10.2. The following topics will be covered:
Map Making Map Overlay
Feature Classification Data Clipping
Querying Data Data Dissolving
Data Exporting Table Joining and Relates
Data Buffering Digitizing
Essentials of ArcGIS 10.2 Intermediate level: one-day course
This course will build upon the Essentials for ArcGIS 10.2: two-day and one-day courses by expanding on more complex issues and demonstrating more advanced geoprocessing tools and techniques.
