Mapleton Rebuild & Recover updates Gov. Branstad on town's progress

On November 1, 2013, Gov. Terry Branstad visited Mapleton to get an update on the recovery efforts since a tornado ripped through the community on April 10, 2011. The Rebuild and Recover Mapleton Long-term Recovery Board has been working closely with Iowa State University, the Iowa Department of Transportation, and Trees Forever, developing plans for future projects that include water and sewer improvements, street and lighting issues, housing needs, and recreation opportunities.
