The Bike Trail Tourism Conference - Getting More Out of Your Trail is an event centering around providing ideas and strategies on how to increase a community's economic benefit from a recreation trail. The conference will be held on Thursday, April 10th from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Hotel Pattee in Perry, Iowa.

The event will begin with an opening introduction from City of Perry council member and bike rider Chuck Schott, followed by the featured speaker, Michael Gould. Gould is the manager of business development for Iowa Economic Development Authority and a bike trail expert.

Four moderated panels will focus on best practices for starting and growing businesses on the trail, improving local signage to direct bike users to local businesses, adding public art on the trail, and best practices on using social media and technology to market your business and your town on a trail.

Local leaders from communities nearby the Racoon River Valley Trail and the High Trestle Trail are encouraged to attend.
