Checklist
The community must understand the purpose of BCT and commit the needed resources. A working group representing all perspectives and interests in the community will be formed. If enough attention is given to building a solid foundation for the program, the other steps will flow more smoothly.
Inform a cross-section of the community about BCT (purpose, process, guiding principles, outcomes, resources, etc.)
Make the commitment to participate in BCT
Form Initiating Team (10-12 community leaders from all sectors)
Understand BCT (purpose, process, guiding principles, outcomes, resources, etc.)
Sign Memorandum of Understanding with ISU Extension (includes designing the process to fit the community)
Conduct Stakeholders Analysis
Raise $3000-5000 and set aside in community account
Decide how/where/who BCT will be administered locally
Decide if a Program Assistant will be hired (and raise funds)
Design a communications plan
Invite Stakeholders Group members
Set up Stakeholders Group kick-off meeting
Form Stakeholders Group
Get to know each other
Understand BCT (purpose, process, guiding principles, outcomes, resources, etc.)
Skills training inventory
Form a Stakeholders Steering Committee (6-8 members)
Communicate progress to entire community through the communication plan
