The top 10 films by Iowa teens and preteens premiered at the 2011 4-H Film Festival during the Iowa State Fair. The young filmmakers competed for an iPad, cash and the chance for silver screen glory in the event at the 4-H Exhibits Building.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach are again joining forces to present the Shimek State Forest Forestry Field Day in Lee County on Tuesday, Oct. 4. The goal of the field day is to make attendees more knowledgeable about how to manage tree resources for their many benefits.

On Sept. 19 Project Recovery Iowa will end its crisis counseling and outreach services for Iowans impacted by the 2010 natural disasters. However, the Iowa Concern hotline, which answered calls for Project Recovery Iowa, will continue to operate at 800-447-1985.
