The Dubuqe County Trailblazers will host a clinic at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds on June 15th through the 21st. The camp is open to all 4-Her's grades 4-12. Campers will learn more about their horse, become better riders, relax, and meet other riders their own age. Applications for the camp are due May 15th. Reservations made up reciept of application and full payment of camp fees.
The focus of the camp is Horsemanship and Equitation with special sessions in Advanced Western Riding, Games, English Riding, Roping, and Showmanship. The camper to instructor ratio is kapt at a low level. Instructors are selected based on their experience, talent, and ability to relate to camper's needs.
The fee for the camp is non-refundable and is $250.00 which includes box stall, camper's room and board, camp t-shirt, and entry fees for the show held at the end of camp. Campers need to carry their own insurance on themselves, their horses, and tack. New this year, campers need to bring their own hay and bedding for their horses (it is recommended that the camper bring 3 bales of hay and 1-2 bales of bedding for their horses).
A note on boots and helmets: ASTM or SEI approved helmets and riding boots are required at all times while mounted.
Horse: Campers are only to bring experienced, well broke horses and ponies to camp. Horses and ponies less than 4 years of age, unbroken or very green horses, stallions, ore mares with foal at side will NOT be allowed.
No horses will be admitted on the grounds wilthout a Health Certificate dated within 30 days of camp.
