Iowa State University Extension is offering several ServSafe® classes for food service professionals. ServSafe® training will provide knowledge every food service provider must know about food hazards and proper food handling practices in order to keep food safe and protect the establishment against the costly nightmare of a foodborne-illness outbreak. Participants will learn ways of prevention, regulatory requirements, and how to improve food quality

 Members of the Clinton County 4-H Livestock Judging Team competed in the Iowa State Livestock Judging contest in Ames, Iowa on Saturday, August 24, 2013. The team began meeting in March and met fifteen times before the contest. The Junior team members were Judd Swanton, Collin Swanton, Carson Deppe, and Wyatt Lindstrom. The Senior individual who participated was Madison Burke. Congratulations to all who participated and to the Junior Livestock Judging Team for winning High Overall Team and High Junior Team Questions! The Juniors who participated as individuals were Carson Deppe and Collin Swanton. Collin earned 3rd Individual and 1st for Individual questions. A special thanks to the coaches: Don Swanton, Dave Delaney, Dan Burzlaff and Dan Smicker.
