4-H Online Information for Families & Leaders

Re-enrolling 4-H members/families are encourged to use the 4-H online system to re-enroll each year.
New 4-H families in Clayton County must fill out paper enrollment forms the first year. Please contact a club leader or the Clayton County Extension Office for enrollment, medical/permission and code of ethics forms.

30 Clayton County 4-H and FFA members weighed in 184 head for the 2015 swine derby show at the Clayton County Fair. This county fair competition uses the rate-of-gain and lean-gain-per-day along with visual appraisal by the judge for evaluation. The 2015 Clayton County Fair Swine Show will be Saturday, August 8.

Expanding knowledge of state government and policy makers in Des Moines were the focus of the March 4 visit to the Iowa State Capitol by thirty-six 4-H’ers and eight adults.4-H’ers, staff and volunteers represented Chickasaw, Clayton and Fayette Counties. Youth and adults took a sixty minute tour of the century-old capitol building. Youth and adults also engaged in exclusive conversations with Senator Michael Breitbach and Senator Mary Jo Wilhelm in the senate.

4-H members looking for a fun summer camp to attend need look no further than Pine Bluff 4-H Camp along the Upper Iowa River during June. Registrations are now being accepted for the Junior and Intermediate 4-H Camp, which are open to all youth just completing grades 4-8.

Families throughout Northeast Iowa are invited to attend the Northeast Iowa Family STEM Festival on Thursday, April 30, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Northeast Iowa Community College Wilder Business Center, 1625 Highway 150 South, Calmar, Iowa. The festival is free and open to the public.

ISU Extension and Outreach Clayton County hosted a new 4-H member night on Sunday, February 15 at Johnson’s Reception Hall in Elkader.  New 4-H members and their parents explored the 4-H town of “Cloverville”.  Everyone was invited to visit the shops in Cloverville.  The Toy Store showcased special interest clubs, the Travel Agency explored goal setting, at the General Store the secrets of 4-H record books were revealed and livestock projects were discussed at the Vet Clinic.
