Four Clayton County youth captured second place in the Iowa 4-H “Stitch This!” fashion design event August 21-22 at the Iowa State Fair. In the name of fashion and high stakes prizes, 13 teams of 4-H teens tore apart wedding dresses to create original garments. The competition was stylish and fierce as the teams competed in the contest.
Showing off their talents were MaryAnn Gibney, Elkader; Erin Ott, Elkader; Miranda Walz, Monona; and Kristina Walz, Monona. This team, called “Get Bedazzled” constructed a tennis outfit complete with a racket bag from their assigned wedding dress.
