Clayton County Pork Producers’ Banquet was held Saturday, September 26 at Johnson’s Reception Hall in Elkader. A dinner of pork loin, baked potato, green bean casserole, lettuce salad, roll, beverage and ice cream was served prior to the program. Door prizes and hams provided by the associate members and Clayton Co. Pork Producers Association were given away throughout the evening.

 

Clayton County Fair Swine Carcass Trophies were presented to Jessica Kramer, Chaun’te Drahn, MIrand Walz, Corby Orr, Meghan Orr, Angela Sperfslage, Chanice Drahn, Ben Wikner and Kristina Walz in the Derby Division.  The Non-Derby winners were Max Medberry, Ellen Osmundson, Nick Boehm, Cory Donlon, Kaytlan Bockenstedt, Kristina Walz, Kyle Jones, Kaitlin Orr and Kelsey Bockenstedt.

           

The Pork Producers’ Restaurant Award went to TJ Pizza of Elgin and Monona.

 

Joe Connor, Farmersburg received the Appreciation Award in recognition of the work he does during the swine show each year during the county fair.       

 

Joe Brandt, Garnavillo was named Master Pork Producer.  A third generation pork producer, Brandt operates the family farm finishing out 9000 pigs per year.

 

Brianna Finnegan, daughter of Michael and Lynne Finnegan, Colesburg was crowned the 2009-10 Little Miss Pig Tails.  Sophie Berns, daughter of John and Jaydeane Berns, Garnavillo was named the alternate.

 

Michelle Finnegan was crowned the 209-10 Clayton County Pork Queen. She is the daughter of Michael and Lynne Finnegan of Colesburg.

 

The banquet was hosted by the Clayton County Pork Producer Board:  Jerry & Wanda Brink, Elkader; Kevin & Tonya Dutka, Garnavillo; Tim & Lisa Donlon, Monona; Tom & Kristi Kenkel, Elkader; Dan & Peggy Lane, Elkader; Steve & Carol Link, Elgin; Tim & Sheri Orr, Elgin; Edmund & Barbara Ruff, Farmersburg; and  Steve Wagner, Elkader.
