Youth entering 6th-8th grades are encourages to sign up for Regional STEM Camp in Calmar.  The day long camp features bottle rockets and egg-o-nauts, as well as cooking science– cookie flops and exploding marshmallows.  Registration is still open for the camp which will be held August 10 from 9-3 pm.  Space is limited to the first 40 youth. Healthy habits and tasty meals that meet dietary guidelines are part of a series planned for families in June at the Clayton County Extension office at 120 South Main St in Elkader. 

Clayton County Extension and Outreach will be hosting a Family Wellness Series beginning Wednesday evening June 1 at 6:00 PM.   Sessions will be held from 6:00-8:00PM on June 1, 8 and 15.   The three part series is designed to help families choose and keep healthy habits.

Luther College Center for Sustainable Communities, in partnership with the Northeast Iowa Food and Fitness Initiative (FFI), announced today plans to host community leaders from throughout the Midwest with an interactive three-day workshop, “Leadership for Community Health Improvement.” The goal of the program is to share best practices in community health innovation to bring about improvement initiatives to improve the health and wellness of local communities.
