Changes are coming from the Food and Drug Administration that will impact all livestock producers. Livestock producers usually work with a veterinarian to use the medication appropriate to treat sickness in their animals. This will not change. However, beginning Jan. 1, 2017, livestock producers will need to have a written document, called a Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD), from their veterinarian before they are legally allowed to feed many of the medicated feeds.

The 4-H Diamond Clover Awards Program is designed to encourage 4-H youth to engage in a variety of projects and activities that will enable members to acquire the life skills necessary to lead successful lives as competent, caring, and contributing citizens.  The program’s overall goal is to provide 4-H members a rich and diverse learning experience.

New Volunteer Training is required for new 4-H volunteers within 1 year of approval. The local training will be held Saturday, October 22 at the ISU Extension and Outreach Office in Spencer from 9 am – 12 pm. Registration is required for this event.
