Greetings from the Program for Women in Science and Engineering! We would like to share some wonderful opportunities for students in you community. . .
GirLinks . . .
is a free online mentoring program where high school females interested in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) can talk via email wtih female undergraduates at Iowa State University majoring in one of those fields.
GirLinks may help alleviate some of the anxiety brought on by applying to college and making the transition to college. It's a fun and simple way to find out about life at ISU and college life in general. Get pointers from students who have been there and build a friendsip with a real student.
We are currently accepting registration from high school students in your community. Click here for more information and to register!
Getaway . . .
is designed to introduce female high school seniors to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs at Iowa State University. During Getaway students will. . .
- Spend two nights & one full day exploring the ISU campus and residence halls.
- Attend actual ISU classes & eat in the dining halls.
- Participate in tours
- Learn more about college life by meeting other women in STEM majors
Each student is matched with a female student living in the residence halls who has gone through training and is excited to be a host.
