Clay County 4-Hers Reach into the Community with Compassion

Clay County 4-H Youth Development Program has citizenship as one of its priority topics. The Clay county 4-H clubs take this very seriously as every year interested clubs submit an essay declaring a charity or project they would like to raise money to support.  The Sioux Achievers 4-H Club has won this honor for many years in a row with this year’s choice being the “Michael Rohan Memorial Fund”.  Sioux Achiever club leader, Peggy Halverson states, “There is definitely a need in the community for swim lessons and for swim safety instruction.  The Michael Rohan Memorial Fund is designed to fund lessons for youngsters with financial needs so they can learn to swim and to also learn water safety.”   The 4-H club raised money at the Clay County Fair in the 4-H Exhibit Building and was able to raise over $400 during that time period.
