Spend the day with ISU Specialist, Janet Toering, discovering three “Connecting Learning & Living” Ag & Natural Resource curricula—”Growing in the Garden” - Grades K-3, “Where We Live” - Grades 4-6, and “Food, Land, and People” - K-12. Receive your choice of a FREE copy of 1 of these kits with your registration.
Tuesday
Hear from local presenters on topics such as:
- infusing this curricula into what you’re already doing in the classroom
- new soil surveying being conducted locally by soil scientists
- urban conservation and water quality initiatives in the area
- importance of math preparation skills for college students
- hands-on “Ag-Citing” activities for the classroom
Wednesday
Enjoy an agriculture and natural resource bus tour throughout Dickinson county. Visit a cow/calf production facility; Little Swan Lake Winery; an ethanol plant presentation; a hog production facility; a dairy farm; as well as a nature study at Eleanor Bedell State Park.
