June 10, 2014

The event “Community Compassion” at the Clay County Fair is all new for 2014!  The event will now be a Human Sciences fundraising opportunity with a citizenship and leadership focus.  This is a voluntary club event where each 4-Her can donate one static (Human Sciences) exhibit to the Community Compassion event.  All exhibits will be bid on silent-auction style in the club booths during the Clay County Fair.  Each youth may choose the opening bid amount for their item.

April 8, 2014

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) makes operating loans of up to $5,000 to eligible individual youths ages 10 to 20 to finance income-producing, agriculture-related projects.  The project must be of modest size, educational, and initiated, developed and carried out by youths participating in 4-H Clubs, FFA, or a similar organization.

MaxYield Cooperative presented Clay County Extension and Outreach with a contribution aimed at decreasing the cost of enrollment in 4-H youth programs.

Clay County Extension will be offering testing this year for canner pressure gauges.  Clients can drop off their lids Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm.  The lids can be picked up on the next business day.  There is no fee and clients do not need to call ahead.
