Iowa State University Extension and Outreach- Clay County is offering a food safety training for food service managers Wednesday, October 28, at the Clay County Extension office in Spencer.

National 4-H Week is October 4th-10th.  In Celebration of this event, Clay County Extension has declared Wednesday, October 7th "Go Green" Day.  We would like to encourage all 4-H youth, volunteers and supporters to wear your 4-H shirt (or green)on that day in support of the Clay County 4-H program.

This is an opportunity for K-3 children to showcase at the Clay County Fair in the 4-H Auditorium on the evening of Tuesday, September 15, 6:30pm.  Participants will have the opportunity discuss their stuffed animal (or other plush creature or friend) with a caring adult and to show an audience their stuffed animal.  Please call fill out the entry form at this link to enter.  A limit on entries may be imposed for time constraints, so enter today!  Please share with your friends, all K-3 youth are welcome!  Check out the K-3 Stuffed animal show video at:

Clover Kids is an after school science program conducted by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach on Early out days in Spencer.  Students will participate in a recreational activity, crafts, and hands on learning that encourages creativity and play.  A snack will be provided.

AMES, Iowa – Weeds, herbicides and the effectiveness of herbicides to control weeds are topics of agronomic and economic importance to farmers and agribusinesses. It is so important that Iowa State University Extension and Outreach field agronomists are hosting Weeds Week, a weeklong series of informational meetings. The half-day sessions will be held Aug. 3-7 at five Iowa State University research farms.
