ISU Extension Clay County will be hosting a free workshop to area businesses interested in selling their goods or services to city, county, state or federal government agencies.  This one-hour event will cover how to locate a Government Contracting Specialist through CIRAS, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach’s Center for Industrial Research and Service, and how they can help you through this process.

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach - Clay County 4-H Youth Development Program partnered with Amanda Bare, Clay County 4-H Committee Member and Club Leader by bringing an afternoon of knitting and of counted cross stitch to the area youth.

Clay County will offer a “Last Chance” Private Pesticide Applicator Continuing Instructional Course (CIC) for private pesticide applicators on April 14, 2015 at the Clay County Extension Office in Spencer, Iowa. This program is shown in cooperation with the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP).

In order to exhibit beef, swine, sheep, meat goat, poultry or rabbit at the Clay County Fair, youth MUST have up-to-date FSQA training or testing.  4th through 6th grade youth must attend training each year and youth 7th grade and older must attend one of the scheduled testing days.

Cover crop field day to be held on April 2 near Dickens AMES, IOWA—Iowa Learning Farms, along with the Iowa Cover Crop Working Group and Clay County Farm Bureau, will host a field day Thursday, April 2, from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Stephanie and Matt Essick and Rich Harves farm, rural Dickens. The event is free and open to the public.
