ISU Extension and Outreach Offers Home Buyer Education Online

USDA Rural Development and other lending agencies require first-time homebuyers to complete education from a certified provider to qualify for the agency’s rural housing loans. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach offers an online course, A Place of Your Own, to meet this need.

Mini-grants to Create Collaborations between 11 County Master Gardener and 4-H Programs

The National 4-H Council and the Wal-Mart Foundation are supporting 4-H Healthy Living programs across the country through Wal-Mart Foundation Healthy Living Youth Grants. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach has received one of the 15 state grants and is using a portion of the money to provide mini-grants to Master Gardeners and 4-H youth to develop partnerships at the county level.

1st Annual Jeanette Larsen Cattle Memorial Show

The first annual Jeanette Larsen Memorial Cattle Show will take place on June 2, 2012 at the West Pottawattamie Fairgrounds (Westfair) in Council Bluffs. The show is open to all 4-H and FFA Members. Weigh ins will be held from 8-10 am and the show will begin at noon. Prizes awarded. Entries must be received at the West Pottawattamie Extension Office by May 25. 4-H Enrollments for New and Returning Families

4-H is continually changing each year to help better serve our 4-H members and families, and this year is no exception. 4-H enrollments will now only be available online. I have attached some wonderful help sheets to guide you through the process. We are also offering many different 4-H online training dates, either as a group or one on one. Please refer to the September 4-H newsletter for those dates and times.
