How can Master Gardeners support the local food systems?  In 2015, we will be exploring this question as part of the Winter Webinar Series.  All sessions will be held from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm on Thursday, January 15, February 12, and March 12.  There will be no charge to attend the series at the Clarke County Extension office in Osceola.

The 3 State Beef Conference will be held on January 13, 2015 at the Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa.  The 3 State Beef Conference is designed to provide beef cattle producers and other agricultural professionals in Iowa, Missouri, and Nebraska an update on current cow-calf or stocker topics.  Pre-registration is required for this event.  Registrations are due by January 9, 2015.  Registration fee is $25, which includes a meal and materials.  To register, call Page County Extension at (712) 542-5171 or toll free at (877) 596-7243.

It is hard to believe that it is time to get enrolled in Clarke County 4-H already.  Adventures await for all Clarke County Youth.  Kindergarten - 3rd Grade have a great Clover Kids program available while those grades 4th - 12th have traditional and specialized clubs available.  Members explore a wide variety of life skills including healthy living, the environment, citizenship, plants and animals, science and technology, and expressive arts through hands-on activites in a non-competitive environment.
