Changes in health insurance raise many questions for consumers.  Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is offering a FREE online workshop on Tuesday, December 1 from 6 - 8 pm.  The Smart Choice Health Insurance Education Program is researched-based, non-political and non-commercial, and will equip consumers with tools they need to make the best possible decision when coosing health insurance plans for themselves and their families.  The workshop has helped thousands of consumers build knowledge, skill and confidence for these important decisions.

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, Lucas County will be offering a program designed for women cattle operators.  The sessions will be held at Carpenter's Hall in Chariton on November 5, 12, and 19.  Women Managing Cattle is a three-week course designed especially to help women cattle operators learn more about marketing strategies, cattle management, and managing land and water resources.  The fee is $50 per participant.  Online registration is available at  For more information, contact Joe Sellers at (641) 203-1270, or Kelly Phillips at ISU Extension and Outreach, Lucas County, 48293 Hy-Vee Road, Chariton, IA 50049 (641) 774-2016.

It is hard to believe that it is time to get enrolled in Clarke County 4-H already.  Adventures await for all Clarke County Youth.  Kindergarten - 3rd Grade have a great Clover Kids program available while those grades 4th - 12th have traditional and specialized clubs available.  Members explore a wide variety of life skills including healthy living, the environment, citizenship, plants and animals, science and technology, and expressive arts through hands-on activites in a non-competitive environment.
