The Chickasaw County Office of ISU Extension will be hosting four workshops for child care providers as part of the Penn State Better Kid Care satellite program series.
“Problem Solving with Children” will be held on October 11 and “Math for Every Age” is scheduled for December 13. On March 13 “Science for Young Thinkers” will be presented and on May 15 the program will be “Improving Transition Times”. All programs will provide two hours of DHS training credit. The programs are designed for both family child care providers and child care center staff.
The October 11 program will focus on how adults can help children learn to play nicely and solve their own problems without hitting, grabbing, pushing and biting.
The October 11 program will be held in the Chickasaw County Extension office at 104 East Main Street in New Hampton, from 6 to 8 p.m. A $5.00 fee can be paid at the program site, but pre-registration is requested. For more information, call Fred Hall at 641/394-2174.
