January 21, 2015

SFP10-14 will be held in Fredericksburg, Nashua and New Hampton beginning in February and March. The programs will be held at different times to help families find the session that best fits their schedule. As a bonus, all families who attend at least 5 of the 7 sessions will be entered to win a $150 Gift Card!!

The 2015 Tri-State Forest Stewardship Conference is scheduled for Saturday, March 14 at Sinsinawa Mound Center, Sinsinawa, Wis. This is the 21st year for the conference, which annually draws 500 woodland landowners from Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa.

The heartbeat of every farm business is the people involved.  This course is designed to empower farm women to better manage both family and non-family partners and employees.  Women will learn effective strategies to manage human resources in the areas of employee laws, business communications, supervision and retention, and health, safety, and well-being.

Transplant production plays a key role in a successful vegetable production system. Growing high quality plants requires skill, proper care and knowledge of the fundamentals of plant growth.  ISU Extension horticulture specialists will be sharing best practices at a Vegetable Transplant Production Workshop on Tuesday, February 17 at Luther College in Decorah.
