iPad Course

Did you just get your first iPad? Trying to figure out where to begin? The iPad 101: The Basics class, sponsored by ISU Extension and Outreach in Chickasaw County, will integrate technology with lifelong learning and help you navigate your new purchase. Come to learn how to get the most out of your iPad in this engaging workshop.  Participants will be able to participate in collaborative social learning, hands on activities and ongoing learning through discussion forums.  This class will take place in New Hampton on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. There will be two opportunities to attend the class; a morning session, 9:30-11:30AM, and an evening session, 5:30-7:30PM, at the Chickasaw County Extension office located at 104 E. Main Street.

ISU Extension & Outreach will host a pasture walk near Garnavillo from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27 at the Andy Schaefers’ dairy farm.

ISU Extension and Outreach is hiring a Human Sciences Specialist in Family Finance for Region 4.  This position will provide educational opportunities through programming leadership, delivery, consultation, technical assistance and support for integrated content in the areas of human sciences with primary focus on aspects of family finance.

The Agricultural Act of 2014 (2014 Farm Bill) has authorized a one-time base acreage reallocation and program yield update. The Farm Bill has also authorized new farm programs including Price Loss Coverage (PLC) and Agricultural Risk Coverage (ARC). PLC and ARC crop programs provide price and revenue, respectively, payments to eligible producers for the 2014 through 2018 crop years.
