Families in and around Cherokee and Aurelia are invited to participate in Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach’s Strengthening Families Program: For Parents and Youth 10-14 which begins the evening of March 14 at the Cherokee Middle School. Families from any school district are welcome to attend. Participation in the program is free to everyone.

Parents of children ages five and under are invited to join “Family Storyteller” at the Cherokee Public Library on Mondays starting March 13 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.Free books, home activity kits, meals and crafts are all a part of a fun-filled, enjoyable evening. Literacy is a child's number one indicator of academic success. Working with youth on their literacy skills now helps them flourish later in their academic lives. The Family Storyteller method has proven success.

Come Join the FUN!!!  Friday, March 31st from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. at the Extension Office.  Cost is $20.00.  Youth will leave with 2 projects!!!  We will be doing a feather painting on canvas, 9x12.  Also a craft with a feather and a saying.  Shake it up Iowa will be putting on our workshop.  Please call the Office to reserve your spot by March 30, at  712-225-6196.
