Area 4-H members are invited to join other 4-H youth from Sioux, Lyon, Osceola, O'Brien, Plymouth and Cherokee Counties for a fun day of swimming, skating, food, friends and fun activities on Dec. 28 from noon to 4:00 p.m. at the All-Season Center in Sioux Center.
Debbie Erpelding, Cherokee County Youth Coordinator with Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach, was recognized with the Distinguished Service Award Nov. 15 at ISU Extension and Outreach’s Annual Youth Fest. The Distinguished Service Award recognizes staff for their accomplishments, impacts on youth development in the county and embodiment of the ISU Extension and Outreach 4-H mission to empower youth to reach their full potential through youth adult partnerships and research-based experiences.

In fact, she says a $10 limit per person is possible by carefully planning holiday spending. The first step to achieving a small holiday limit is to make the decision to hold down spending.
One hundred seven local youth participated in Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach’s Fall STEM Fest at Northwest Iowa Community College on Nov. 12. STEM Fest is a free educational event for 4th through 8th grade students hosted twice a year, with the focus being Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
